Los Angeles ranks third in the nation in terms of mobile ad spending. Businesses spent $240 million dollars in 2010 to reach people in Los Angeles through mobile devices. Of that amount, only 7% came from businesses located within Los Angeles, representing $17 million dollars.
More mobile ad spending was delivered through mobile browsers than any other means, representing $132 million dollars in mobile ad speding in 2010, but SMS/MMS ads are predicted to garner more mobile ad spending in 2015 than any other delivery mechanism. We forecast SMS/MMS mobile ad spending to reach $597 million dollars in 2015 from local and national businesses that target Los Angeles consumers.
